Recognizing both the need and business opportunity for "commercial" style web systems integration and process automation consulting within the U.S. Federal Government, leading San Diego-based web system integrator Silicon Space announced today the formation of a separate business unit, Silicon Space Federal Systems (SSFS).

"We're extremely pleased and excited about investing in servicing our government," said Curt Nelson, CEO of Silicon Space, "We understand that the infrastructure, approach, and specific needs of the Federal sector are different from our traditional commercial enterprise sector clients, and believe that by simultaneously focusing resources on Federal business while leveraging the best practices we've created and learned while servicing market-leading commercial clients like H-P, Disney, Union Bank of California, and Harcourt, we can bring significant value to new Federal clients."

The business unit will be headed up by both Nelson and VP Client Services Leslie Holden. Ms. Holden has been managing Silicon Space's activities at the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) for the past several years.
